Thank you From the Carlin Family
The family of the late Celine Carlin wishes to thank all who assisted Celine in her last days or expressed sympathy after her death: first of all to the priests who concelebrated Celine’s funeral Mass - Fr Gordon and Fr Francisco, Fr Canny, Fr Kelly, Fr Donohoe, Fr O’Sullivan, Fr Castro, Fr Wicht, and by telephone or email, Fr Oscar, Fr Gormley, and from his hospital bed, recovering from a stroke, Msgr Tom Keys; to Dr Dermody, Dr Chu, and the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Queen of the Valley Hospital whose compassionate care made Celine as comfortable as possible towards the end; to Claffey and Rota for the funeral arrangements; to Caring Friends for the reception; to the choir and instrumentalists, especially those from other parishes, whose glorious music lifted our hearts from the depth of our grief. A special word of thanks to Fr Gordon: his daily bulletins kept people informed and he was a rock of support in many other ways, especially at Celine’s bedside. Finally, our deepest gratitude to the people of the parish: the ministers and musicians who held the fort, the hotel accommodation, the offers of help and accommodation from others, the minivan, the high chair, and especially the Food Brigade. We ate what we could and shared the rest with neighbors and the church hospitality closet. We were advised to leave 2 coolers at our front door for people’s convenience, but although we wrote Beer on one and Wine on the other, all they brought was food. We are overwhelmed by the hundreds of people who sent cards, prayers, and financial support, and we hope this notice will be accepted as a token of our everlasting thanks. From Celine’s husband Tony, son Conor, daughter-in-law Sandra, grandchildren Fiona, Leo, and Eamon, son Kevin and girlfriend Carrie, brother Damian, sister-in-law Cath, nieces Kate and Olivia, sisters-in-law Sheila, Maria, and Fionnuala, and brothers-in-law Declan and Feargal. May Celine’s soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
